Exo Business 2023.2

The 2023.2 release of MYOB Exo Business included the following new features:

  • Improved password security.
  • The ability to add extra fields to the Bill of Materials an Works Order screens.
  • More display names for fields for Exo Job Costing.
  • The Service Park 1 release resolves two issues that affected MYOB Exo Business and Exo Job Costing.

Exo Business 2023.1

The 2023.1 release of MYOB Exo Business included the following new features:

  • Improvements to extra fields.
  • SQL syntax examples when adding a custom filter.
  • For administrators, the ability to keep track of when users have logged in.
  • Improved ability to search for jobs based on extra fields.

Exo Business 2022.3.1

The 2022.3.1 release of MYOB Exo Business was a hotfix that resolved two issues affecting sales orders.

Exo Business 2022.3

The 2022.3 release of MYOB Exo Business included the following new features:

  • The ability to add default CC and BCC addresses when emailing debtor invoices.
  • The ability to use search templates for MYOB Exo Job Costing and for Opportunities in MYOB Exo CRM.
  • (AU only) An update to TPAR submissions so that they comply with the ATO’s new requirements.
  • Other minor improvements.

Exo Business 2022.1.2

The 2022.1.2 release of MYOB Exo Business was a hotfix that:

  • Updated TPAR submission to meet ATO requirements.
  • Resolved issues in Exo Business Core and Exo Job Costing.

Exo Business 2022.2

The 2022.2 release of MYOB Exo Business included the following new features:

  • Support for Microsoft WebView2.
  • Support for the new format of the import file from the Australian Tax Office’s Small Business Identification portal.
  • The ability to customise right-click menu options on debtor and creditor transactions.
  • The ability to make business alerts only trigger for new accounts and transactions.
  • The option to filter contact information to only show active contacts.
  • An easier way to identify which inwards goods cost generated a creditor invoice line.
  • The ability to select multiple stock items in the POS and Disribution Advantage modules.
  • Improved search options for purchase orders.
  • Longer dashboard layouts that show full layout names.

Exo Business 2022.1

The 2022.1 release of MYOB Exo Business:

  • (AU only) Updated the Taxable Payments Annual Report to reduce the number of fields that are reported to the ATO.
  • Added the ability to edit the date an invoice was received.
  • Made it easier to prevent negative stock quantities when duplicating a job.
  • Resolved various issues.
  • Updated Clarity Reports, making minor chages to report logic.

Exo Business 2021.5

The 2021.5 release of MYOB Exo Business is a hotfix that resolves issues related to stock average cost adjustment and access violation.

Exo Business 2021.4

The 2021.4 release of MYOB Exo Business included the following new features:

  • Improved performance when importing stock, as well as a progress bar and the ability to cancel an import.
  • When importing stock from a CSV file, the ability to include event reasons in the file.
  • The ability to install new versions of MYOB Exo Business to a different folder, instead of overwriting the existing folder.
  • The ability to send messages to users and force users to log out.

Exo Business 2021.3

The 2021.3 release of MYOB Exo Business included the following new features:

  • The Stock Movement Import screen was renamed to Stock Movement Transactions.
  • Updates to business alerts, so that all alerts triggered on multiple lines of a record appear in one message window.
  • A new Stock Location Variances utility, which shows any variance between stock on hand and calculated stock levels.
  • The ability to reverse depreciation and revalution transactions.
  • Updates to Extra Fields, making it easier to find, add and edit Extra Fields.
  • Updates to Job Costing, which make sure that the stock and WIP update correctly.

Exo Business 2021.2

The 2021.2 release of MYOB Exo Business included the following new features:

  • Support for the Payment Times Reporting Scheme in Australia.
  • The ability to change the Extra Fields available on a Sales Order depending on the order’s type.
  • The ability to hide unneeded tabs on record entry windows.
  • The ability to customise the right-click menu on Exo Job Costing records.
  • Support for Business Alerts on inwards goods records.

Exo Business 2021.1

The 2021.1 release of MYOB Exo Business included the following new features:

  • Updates to the NZ GST Return to retrieve information about your GST obligations from the IRD automatically.
  • Improvements the handling of deposits on Sales Orders.
  • Support for High DPI scaling as per the Display settings for each monitor.

Exo Business 2020.3

The 2020.3 release of MYOB Exo Business included the following new features:

  • New cash flow reporting features that provide a different perspective of the business, analysing activity from a cash movement perspective.
  • Updates to the user interface of the remaining Exo Business modules that were not updated in the 2020.1 or 2020.2 releases.
  • Display Names for the lables on the Dates section of the Job Details window.

Exo Business 2020.2

In this release, we’ve updated the user interface of the Exo CRM and Exo Job Costing modules. We’ve given them the more modern, intuitive, and simplified look that users have requested in the feedback we’ve received.

We’ve done this to improve the software’s usability by taking better advantage of large very high-resolution displays that are set to become mainstream over the coming years. Exo Business is more intuitive to new users acquiring skills in Exo Business for the first time.

The changes to the user interface apply to all applications in Exo CRM and Exo Job Costing.

Exo Business 2020.1

In this release, we’ve updated the user interface of the core Exo Business module. We’ve given them the more modern, intuitive, and simplified look that users have requested in the feedback we’ve received.

We’ve done this to improve the software’s usability by taking better advantage of large very high-resolution displays that are set to become mainstream over the coming years. Exo Business is more intuitive to new users acquiring skills in Exo Business for the first time.

The changes to the user interface only apply to these applications in Exo Business Core:

  • Debtors, Creditors, and Non Accounts
  • Stock
  • Contacts
  • Sales Orders, Invoices, and Payment Entry
  • Purchase Orders, Inwards Goods, and Creditor Invoicing
  • Bill of Materials
  • General Ledger

Exo Business 2019.4

The 2019.4 release of MYOB Exo Business includes an update to the technology that MYOB uses to develop the Exo Business suite. Exo Business now supports Unicode text, meaning you can use foreign language characters throughout the product. To take advantage of these changes, you must update the database.

This release also includes these changes:

  • Changes to the look and feel of the Exo Business user interface.
  • Additional validation of debtors transaction allocation ageing with FX variances.
  • Names of opportunity stages are now saved as mixed case.
  • The length of supplier stock codes now matches the length of stock codes.
  • Implementation of a new spelling checker
  • You can now search for debtor and creditor invoices based on their invoice numbers or their transaction references.
  • Connection passwords are hidden when launching Exo applications.
  • You can now automatically lock prior periods in the General Ledger.
  • Improved the prompts for unrealised gain/loss postings as part of the period end process so you can now preconfigure the default answer as well as disable the prompt.

Exo Business 2019.2

The 2019.2 release of MYOB Exo Business includes security enhancements resulting from a third-party audit which:

  • Remove the SQL Server Express and database installation option from the Exo Business installer.
  • Encrypt database credentials.
  • Key staff properties only available to application administrators.
  • The 2019.2.1 Service Pack release contains an update to the Bank Feeds Application screen to provide a temporary solution to enable clients to apply for a feed online with ANZ in Australia.
  • The 2019.2.2 Service Pack release addresses an issue identified in the 2019.2 release.

Exo Business 2019.1

The 2019.1 release of MYOB Exo Business included the following:

  • Updates to the Exo Business database to enhance security.
  • A confirmation message that displays when you convert a foreign currency to a local currency amount.
  • A warning that displays you override an exchange rate with a percentage that’s higher than the defined threshold.
  • Changes to depreciation calculations that take into account February in a leap year.

Exo Business 2018.5

The 2018.5 release of MYOB Exo Business included the following:

  • Updates to Exo Configurator to enable users with STAFF privileges to use special characters, including extended ASCII characters, in passwords.
  • The addition of the Cost Price and Margin options on the Sales Order Line Periscope.
  • Database updates that enable users to set a decimal value to increase the granularity of the imbalance when posting to the general ledger.
  • An increase to the length of the DESCWIDTH profile setting to 100 characters.
  • The addition of the Save & Copy button to Activity screens.
  • The 2018.5.1 Service Pack release addresses three issues identified in the 2018.5 release.

Exo Business 2018.4

Exo Business 2018.3

The 2018.3 release of MYOB Exo Business included the following new features:

  • A new Memo type for Extra Fields.
  • The ability to email activities to the users assigend to them.
  • The ability to specify a default GL code for Creditor accounts
  • The addition of activities and an Analysis tab to Serviceable Units
  • User interface updates across the Exo Business system to improve usability.
  • A transport layer security (TLS) update. This update is required from 1 October 2018 to be able to use Bank Feeds and SBR features.

Exo Business 2017.3

  • The ability to recall creditor payment batches and send or re-send remittances via mailshot.
  • The ability to select alternate suppliers for stock item lines when generating Purchase Orders from a Sales Order.

Exo Business 2017.1

The 2017.1 release of MYOB Exo Business included the following new features:

  • The Exo Clarity report builder has received a major upgrade, which adds new functionality and interface improvements.
  • A new Menu Favourites control on all Exo Business modules provides access to your most commonly used menu options.
  • The General Ledger Account Details window now has a Documents tab, which behaves in the same way as the Documents tabs that are available on other records.
  • Exo Business now uses Google Maps for geolocation functions.
  • This release adds a variety of user interface enhancements, which improve workflows and make data more visible and easy to read.
  • The 2017.1.2 Service Pack release contains a transport layer security (TLS) update. This update is required from 1 October 2018 to be able to use Bank Feeds and SBR features.

Exo Business 2016.3

The 2016.3 release of MYOB Exo Business included the following new features:

  • The NZ GST Return can now include provisional tax information when submitting the GST Return to the IRD.
  • New Business Alerts are available for a wide range of events
  • New setup options are available for the GL Report Writer, which provide more flexibility when setting up percentage-based columns, and allow report columns to be organised more neatly.
  • An idle timeout can be set up for users, so that they will be logged out automatically after a period of inactivity.
  • The 2016.3.1 Service Pack release significantly improves the process of exporting reports to Microsoft Excel:
    • Reports can be exported in the .XLSX format.
    • The system now analyses reports and produces automatically formatted Excel files that presents the data as clearly as possible.
    • Enhancements to the Print to File Setup window make it easier to control the formatting of exported Excel files.
  • The 2016.3.2 Service Pack release contains compliance updates that affect the ability to submit the Taxable Payments Annual Report (TPAR) to the ATO electronically.
  • The 2016.3.3 Service Pack release contains a transport layer security (TLS) update. This update is required from 1 October 2018 to be able to use Bank Feeds and SBR features.

Exo Business 2016.2

The 2016.2 release of MYOB Exo Business included the following new features:

  • The main grid on the Purchase Orders window has been replaced with a new grid control, adding extra functionality.
  • Stock search templates are now available when searching for stock from the Purchase Orders window.
  • The Taxable Payments Annual Report (TPAR) can now be submitted to the ATO electronically.
  • The NZ GST Return can now be submitted to the IRD electronically.
  • The formatting of extra fields added to search windows can now be customised.
  • The Post Ledgers to GL function can now be run from the command line.
  • The 2016.2.1 Service Pack release provides improvements to the Stock search templates and Purchase Order grid features introduced in 2016.2.

Exo Business 2016.1

The 2016.1 release of MYOB Exo Business included the following new features:

  • Non Accounts can now be marked as inactive.
  • It is now possible to create complex Business Alert rules that reference other rules.
  • Exo POS now allows deposits to be entered on Sales Orders when using the shopping cart functionality.
  • The Works Orders window now has a Documents tab, which behaves in the same way as the Documents tabs that are available on other records.
  • It is now possible to control the order of line items on subscriptions.

Exo Business 2015.5

The 2015.5 release of MYOB Exo Business included the following new features:

  • This release adds support for Office 2016 and Windows 10.
  • This release adds interaction between the Bank Feeds and Bank Reconciliation functions in Exo Finance.
  • Search templates can now be set up for GL accounts and GL subaccounts.
  • Company search templates can now be used on Company Search windows in the Exo CRM module.
  • The Inwards Goods Receipt and Inwards Goods Costing windows now have Documents tabs, which behave in the same way as the Documents tabs that are available on other records.
  • Workflow constraints on Job Statuses are now applied when invoicing and crediting jobs in the Exo Job Costing module.
  • The 2015.5.1 Service Pack release addresses an issue identified in the 2015.5 release.

Exo Business 2015.4

The 2015.4 release of MYOB Exo Business included the following new features:

  • This release introduces the Bank Feeds function, which downloads bank statement transactions using an online service, and matches them to transactions in the Exo Business database.
  • Extra Fields can now be set up for Works Order headers.
  • The order in which transactions from the Creditors Payment Processor are processed can now be set.
  • Exo Business now supports dragging and dropping any document file onto a record’s Documents tab
  • The Purchase Order and Creditor Invoice Entry windows now have Documents tabs, which behave in the same way as the Documents tabs that are available on other records.

Exo Business 2015.1

The 2015.1 release of MYOB Exo Business included the following new features:

  • This release adds support for SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 2 and SQL Server 2014.
  • This release adds search templates – pre-defined SQL filters that can be applied to stock and company record searches in the Exo Business system.
  • The Stock Search window now supports multi-select, and lets users enter a quantity for each stock item before adding them.
  • Sales Orders can now be associated with activities, history notes, transactions and documents.
  • This release contains a variety of improvements that make the Sales Order batch supply process more robust.
  • The 2015.1.1 Service Pack release resolves an issue with the Exo Intercompany module.
  • The 2015.1.2 Service Pack release provides updates to the licensing of the Exo CRM module and the Exo OnTheGo app.
  • The 2015.1.3 Service Pack release lets users edit job invoice lines and reintroduces the ability to “un-write off” job lines.

Exo Business 8.8

The 8.8 release of MYOB Exo Business included the following new features:

  • Geolocation features can now be saved for companies and contacts, based on their addresses. This information can be used by the Exo API and the Exo OnTheGo mobile app.
  • This release includes changes to improve the performance of the stock data verification procedures on large databases
  • The 8.8 Service Pack 1 release updates to the licensing of the Exo CRM module and the Exo OnTheGo app.

Exo Business 8.7

The 8.7 release of MYOB Exo Business included the following new features:

  • This release includes process changes that allow Exo Job Costing to fully support a perpetual inventory system:
    • A Work in Progress Control Account has been added, and any Stock Location can now be flagged as a Work in Progress location.
    • A Jobs tab is available on the Stock Item Details window when Exo Job Costing is installed.
  • The Billing Schedule tab is now always visible on all jobs. This tab has been updated to display all invoices relating to the job.
  • It is now possible to display the sub jobs of master jobs on job grids.
  • This release adds the ability to set up custom Business Alerts that are triggered when certain transactions are saved.
  • This release introduces the Exo Email Service, which can be used to automate the sending of emails from the Exo Business system.
  • The 8.7 Service Pack 1 release contains further improvements to the Job Costing and Business Alert features introduced in the 8.7 release.
  • The 8.7 Service Pack 2 release introduces search templates, which are pre-defined SQL filters that can be applied to searches in the Exo Business system.

Exo Business 8.6

The 8.6 release of MYOB Exo Business included the following new features:

  • This release adds support for Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012, as well as 64-bit editions of Microsoft Outlook.
  • This release adds numerous enhanecments to Opportunities in the Exo CRM module.
  • This release contains updates to the mailshot function, including support for bulk emailing Debtor Invoices.
  • A new WYSIWYG editor is available for HTML components in the Exo Clarity report builder.
  • It is now possible to report on financial quarters in GL Reports.
  • The 8.6 Service Pack 1 release adds the ability to report on Taxable Creditor Payments for Australian companies.
  • The 8.6 Service Pack 2 release adds support for Microsoft Office 2013, including Outlook 2013.

Exo Business 8.5

The 8.5 release of MYOB Exo Business included the following new features:

  • This release introduces the Exo Accountant’s Assistant, which provides accountants and external advisors with an easy-to-use portal to the accounting functions of Exo Business.
  • This release adds the ability to open Exo Business records from a URL/hyperlink using the exo:// protocol.
  • This release introduces checklist dashboard widgets, which display a structured list of items to be checked off as part of a process.
  • This release includes a variety of improvements aimed at making Exo Business more compliant with accounting standards and practices.
  • The Supply Details tab on the Sales Orders window has been reworked to use a standard ExoGrid.
  • This release adds the ability to enter a SQL query directly into the Query Designer when setting up a data source in Exo Clarity.
  • The 8.5 Service Pack 1 and Service Pack 2 releases resolve issues identified in previous releases.
